InCommon, operated by Internet2, provides a secure and privacy-preserving trust fabric for research and higher education, and their partners, in the United States. InCommon's identity management federation serves 8 million end-users (IPEDS data; October 2014). InCommon also operates a related assurance program, and offers certificate and multifactor authentication services.



InCommon Seeking Nominees for Steering Committee

InCommon is seeking nominees to serve three-year terms on its Steering Committee beginning January 2015. The Steering Committee is responsible for overseeing and advising Internet 2 on InCommon's identity services, activities and initiatives. Nominations close November 15, 2014. See the details here.

100 Identity Providers Now Support Research & Scholarship Category

With the addition of the Weill Cornell Medical College, InCommon now has 100 identity providers supporting the Research & Scholarship (R&S) Category. An Identity Provider that supports R&S releases a minimal set of attributes to all services in the category. Today there are 27 such services. Next Shibboleth Installation Workshop Nov. 10-11 at the University of Utah

Need training on Shibboleth installation? Registration is now open for the next InCommon Shibboleth Installation Workshop, November 10-11, 2014, at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Attendees will spend one day installing the identity provider software and one day on the service provider software.

IDM Integration Joins Affiliate Program
