Research.gov and InCommon Integration
Led by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Research.gov is the modernization of FastLane that provides a menu of services tailored to meeting the unique needs of the research community.
What can Research.gov do for you?
- Offers informational services for the research community
- Helps researchers manage their grants portfolio
- Provides the public with fast and easy access to transparent information about the outcomes and impacts of NSF investments
Research.gov is also a transparent source for information about federal research spending and outcomes for the general public. Go to Research.gov for more information.
About the InCommon Integration at Research.gov
NSF joined the InCommon Federation in January 2009 to provide NSF’s research and education community easier access to online services using Research.gov. Using technology developed by Internet2 under a NSF-funded grant (Shibboleth), researchers and sponsored programs offices can use their university-issued user ID and password to login to Research.gov. Additionally, Principal Investigators (PIs) and Co-PIs are now able to access FastLane services through Research.gov.
The Research.gov InCommon Integration is Now Available to All InCommon Participants
The InCommon pilot was successfully completed in May 2011, and now the InCommon integration at Research.gov is available to all interested InCommon participants. If your institution is interested in accessing Research.gov via InCommon, please send an email request to feedback@research.gov.
